A house is where we live. Your house can become your home, your own space, a place to share your life with your family and friends. There are all kinds of homes out there: flats in tall buildings, big houses with back yards, caravans, tree houses in the middle of cities, houses in the mountains, houseboats…etc…

Please, share your favorite home related panoramas with us. Send them to blog@360cities.net

We’ve just created a new category for blog posts created by you, the awesome panoramic photographers who make up our community. The category is called “Guest Contributions” and we hereby invite you to share your insights about techniques, technical improvements, or the story behind panoramas that you’ve uploaded to 360cities.net.

Please send your ideas to blog@360cities.net. Write “Guest Contribution” in the subject field. We’ll get back to you to discuss and agree on next steps, the goal being to turn as many ideas as possible into interesting blog posts.

The wonderful World of Sports!

Whatever your level of skill or participation, some of the more memorable quotes from famous players and coaches can serve as a guide in day-to-day life. Don’t forget to send us your sport related panoramas to blog@360cities.net

- I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my live. And that is why I succeed.
Michael Jordan

- Nobody’s a natural. You work hard to get good and then work to get better. It’s hard to stay on top.

You know how to comment in any panorama. It’s easy and fast, and you can be notified whenever somebody leaves a comment in any of your panos. We have taken this a step forward, and now you can comment as your 360Cities account name.

Here’s how:

- If you are viewing panoramas while logged into your 360Cities account, write your comment and then click on your 360Cities name.

- If you are not logged into your 360Cities account, write your comment and click on the 360Cities icon.

- Then, log into your account.

This should make commenting even easier. Well, if you don’t forget your password, that is ;) .

In our continued effort to promote communication throughout the 360Cities community, we’ve just launched something new.

As of today, it is possible for you to receive an email notification when a first comment is made to any of your panoramas. By opting in, you will avoid missing comments made to your panos.

And here’s how you opt in:

- Log into your account.

- Account > Settings > Email

- Check the box: “ Receive a Disqus notification the first time someone comments on any of my panos.”

You’ll receive a Disqus notification email that allows you to choose your personal settings from your Disqus account: you can choose to get a notification whenever a comment is added to any of your panoramas, get a daily or weekly report of the comments that matter to you, and subscribe to threads that you comment on.

So now you are notified about notifications – ENJOY!

The Shard will open its doors to the public next month. The Shard is the highest building (310 meters) not only in London, but also in the entire European Union. Although tickets are not cheap, opening day tickets are already sold out.

We have some awesome panoramas from the highest skyscrapers in the world – but who will be the first 360Cities’ photographer to shoot a pano from the top of The Shard?

Here are some great panoramas from the top of skyscrapers around the world:

Skyscrapers “Seven sky”, Novosibirsk, Russia. Panorama made by Novosibirsk.

Almost everybody knows about the 360Cities Map. (If you haven’t seen our map yet, click here)

Lots of people go to the map when they dream about their next holidays, about Caribbean weather,
about water sports, about exotic food… We know that 360Cities Map viewers take their time, they have
a drink and relax flying through the world.

We want to make your “virtual traveling” experience nicer and easier than before.

We’ve modified the infowindow that is shown when mousing over the thumbnails on the map:

- If you find a panorama that you love, you can easily find more from the same area by
clicking on “Zoom in”.

- You can see the photographer’s name below the thumbnail.

- When you click in any panorama’s thumbnail, you’ll be able to see it in a new tab.
That means that the 360Cities Map will be waiting for you in another tab and you won’t get lost.

Watch the clock though – one can easily get hung up – we’ve heard accounts of people
spending up to six hours surfing the 360Cities map ;) .
