Photographer’s Note:Iceland, as I knew it at the time remains out there in the wild in comparison with most parts of Europe. I had set myself the task of riding a motorbike through the remote interior of the country and I was really having my doubts to how many of the bridgeless river crossings I could cross. I knew the motorhomes and the cars would not be venturing too far off the highways, but when I saw what everyone else brought with them I was really starting to doubt my choice of 2 wheels. There were big 4 wheel drives, a 6 wheel drive, various 4 wheel drives with huge tyres, then my little 10 year old Honda Africa Twin with only 2 wheels and only one of them that drove. I stared to the North Western horizon towards Iceland and the sun which had just disappeared for the evening. What will this new country have in store for me?
