This could have been a hit with pano photographers if they would have put the camera rotation at the nodal point. But, maybe some smart company will offer an “upgrade” arm set, (with appropriate app) so it will be.

    • Roger David Williams The camera seems to have serious limitations in dynamic range and internal scattering of light within the lens, judging from the quality of the demo videos. I watched them all, and the faults are common in every one of them. Frankly, it may be nominally 4K but it doesn’t look like it to me. The stabilizer performance is fantastically good, though. No doubt about that.

    • GedePasek Wibawa Bpi Well, I have a Phantom 3, and it’s the same camera, kinda. Quite satisfied with it, compared to what I had before. Was planning for a 4k capable mirrorless + gimbal, but since I saw this, I may change my mind. Pitty that DJI didn’t put the rotation at the nodal point. It would make automated (hdr) pano shooting a breeze.

Why the hell has 360cities now auto rotation on all panos? I can’t even disable it for my own.

Auto rotation sucks, it’s awful and a patronization of the user. I’d accept a first time auto rotate that stays off once the user interacted with the pano. But there’s not even a switch to turn it off!

This weekend I did a test to see how the Zeiss 55 performs with the A7R on panos. Only problem is that the file is 70k wide and the final 16bit file results in a whopping 13GB. No problem to open that in PS but it can’t even perform a basic shadows/highlights correction.

It might be interesting example of panorama which is full of light extremes…

I am preparing tours of the country hotspots with ‘stereo 360° method’ for upcoming 2nd wave of VR Goggles (200K) next month … if you see the light trembling – that are my graphic stations consuming all that electricity… ok … some fun…

This one was not easy (just a cut from my workflow at the moment) – dealing with the total black interior with the falling light inside – I did a 360° stereo (shift 7 cm) with “double bracketing” of 9 stops (actually 18 stops) 2x( -8,-6,-4,-2,0,+2,+4,+6,+8 )… all along the cave. Hi res – 15 mm Canon prime. (location: Cave of Mahorčič, RPŠJ, Slovenia)

15mm fish comparisons? How do the canon and sigma primes compare to the 8-15? I think the 8-15 has floating elements. This causes the image circle to shift on zenith / nadir shots.. and its annoying. It’s apparent in photoshop.

    • Keith Martin So it is actually fairly similar in what it captures to Nikon’s 16mm fisheye! Which I have – so my excuse for getting this goes out the window. Just as well, as I can’t afford more gear at the moment

    • Thomas Sharpless I would like to try Sigma 15. But for now the Samyang 12 is my lens of choice for “7-shot” panos. It has smaller magnification than a 15mm f.e. of course, so on a7r gives ‘only’ 140 MPix equis versus 210 MPix from a 15mm.

I am very happy to know that some of my photos are finalists, and even more so for having achieved the first prize in the category of underwater world.

All Images Finalists are beautiful and it is an honour for me to have my photos published in the book inspired by nature

Hello friends,

I just made two panorama with my DJI Phantom3 Pro and along with DronePan app. I request you to play this and guide as whenever I post this on fb and try to play it shows black screen.

Suramya 7 | Aerial Panorama

A signature of understated class, SURAMYA SEVEN is a manifestation of peace, Tranquility, rest and recuperation. SURAMYA SEVEN is literally embedded in the lap of nature where the dominant colour is green, where the feeling is of purity, where you leave the rat race behind and enrich the body and so…

Dear friends – this image dedicated to all of us getting hopeless

assignments …

Shot as a web FB teaser image for article made for printed swedish wind energy magazine – I was really quite depressed because GE that runs this construction site didn’t let us come on the top of the turbine ….

So I thought 360 will be completely useless / boring .

But I think it came out quite nice ……

Guys, maybe a stupid question but I have to ask. I have a client who asks me to add his business to “Google Business Views”. Can I do that if I’m not Google Trusted Photographer?

Nice review about Nodal Ninja 7.3mm fisheye for MFT Mount by Henrik Fessler.

Enjoy the various tools he used for comparing different projects. I wonder how to overlay Tissot’s Indicatrix markers on the equi-rectangular image.

Is there a discussion or tutorial somewhere for using a tour editor (e.g. KRPANO)? I’m not very java literate and am trying to get beyond the simple hotspots, which I seem to be able to create and link in a tour, to add information or images on click or hover. I suspect it has to do with add links to other XML (such as the ShowText.xml) – but that’s just a guess on my part. Much thanks, Chris

Markus Altendorff, did a good job (again) with preparing The World Wide Panorama event “Peace” – nice panoramas and stories:http://worldwidepanorama.org/worldwidepan…/wwp915/index.html .

Not familiar with WWP? Well…it runs since 2004… here is some more: “It’s An Ongoing Event

Ever since the first event in 2004, the WorldWidePanorama has been open for all panoramic photographers, no matter if they contributed only once or if they stayed to become regular participants. Every three months, a theme is announced and all panorama photographers are invited to join and send in an image that they feel captures the theme’s spirit.” =:>http://worldwidepanorama.org/worldwid…/…/practical/Join.html
