The German Focke Wulf 190 was the most advanced radial engine fighter in the world in the fall of 1941. This Focke Wulf was built in 1943 and modified for ground attack duties. It was shot down in Russia during an attack on a Soviet supply train. It crashed in a wetland, where it remained until a warbird hunter discovered it in the 1980s. It was airlifted out by helicopter and eventually restored to the flying condition it is in today. This plane is the only original flyable Focke-Wulf 190A fighter to fly with a genuine BMW 801 engine.
