Taken from the Southern ridge of Kala Patthar, Mt Everest (8848m)- that distinct pyramid of brown granite too steep to hold much snow peeps behind the more awe-inspiring Lhotse (8516m) and Nuptse (7861m) in front. The entire Khumbu Glacier would come into view, another 50 m or so near the middle of the ridge from here.
