Enthusiastic crowds welcome riders on Day 2 of Le Tour de France 2014 as they enter the village of Ripponden in West Yorkshire. Vicenzo Nibali, from Astana Pro Team, passes the camera at the centre of the peloton. He later took the lead on this dramatic day’s racing to win Stage 2 as it finished in Sheffield.An estimated 2.5 million people lined the route of this year’s Tour de France over two days of thrilling cycling across hill, dale and through historic towns and cities in the north of England.   1. That’s brill! I’ve been keeping a watchful eye over the various social networking sites and have been thoroughly impressed with some of the shots I’ve seen. Even on Instagram where the photo quality is heavily restricted and filtered, there’s been some really great shots of the flocking crowds and panorama.
