Last week, I took test drive of the latest version of Kolor’s Panotour Pro virtual tour creation software. The result is above. This is a tour of about 22 panoramas of the exterior and interior of a house (for those of you who are interested, it’s 933 Pontiac Rd. in Wilmette, just north of Chicago; the original link to the virtual tour is here).
While I haven’t managed to try all of the features of the software, because it does provide quite a lot – I have to say that I am very pleasantly surprised by the speed and ease with which I created this virtual tour. Of course, the first time using any tool is the hardest, and some of the tasks took a bit of disovery – a virtual tour is a complex thing, and not everything can be perfectly intuitive. That said, it took me less than 15 minutes of reading the manual, and watching a couple of tutorial videos, to get comfortable doing what I wanted to do, which was to create a simple, room-to-room tour with smooth transitions in the views from one room to the next.
So, Panotour Pro has my stamp of approval. I will certainly be using it again when the opportunity presents itself.
