The dam was built in 1929–1932 and inaugurated on 29 October 1933 in the presence of the president of the Republic of Poland, professor Ignacy Mościcki and the provincial governor of Silesia, Michał Grażyński. At that time the municipal gas and water supply plant was managed by Nechay, Eng.http://spacer.bielsko.pl
