After making a scary solo (without rope and gear) climb up to the top of this detached pillar of rock I was able to convince my wife and a friend to do some rock climbing next to me. This location, while just a 40 min walk from the end of the road, feels like complete wilderness and there is a certain sense of isolation when you sit with your feet dangling off the edge of the Pine Creek Canyon.
