Raimo Haapala is a dedicated Finnish contributor whose work on 360Cities captures the heart of Finland’s landscapes and cityscapes. With a love for panoramic photography as both a hobby and “best occupation”, he has been documenting Finland’s unique charm with nearly 200 panoramas and a handful of captivating 360º videos since joining 360Cities. His journey into panoramic photography began in 2016, diving into the intricacies of 360º systems and software with a commitment to continuously refine his craft.
In October alone, he contributed 32 panoramas and three immersive videos, each one a window into Finland’s rugged wilderness and everyday scenes. From the peaceful lakeside views of Reuhari Islands in Tampere to the textures of smooth, ancient rocks shaped by the Ice Age, his work resonates with the tranquil beauty of Finland’s natural settings. This month’s collection also explores Finland’s urban life, with glimpses into spots like the Iso-Vilunen BMX track, the bustling tram terminus at Pyhällönpuisto, and the storied old shopping center in Lentävänniemi.
Raimo’s work is as much about exploration as it is about technique. His self-guided study of panoramic systems has enriched his images with his own perspective, capturing the quiet yet profound moments in Finland’s landscapes. His October uploads include everything from calm canoe landings to serene campfires, all set against the backdrop of Finland’s iconic lakes and rugged terrain.
Join us in exploring Finland’s hidden treasures through Raimo’s eyes on 360Cities. Each panorama invites you to feel the calm of Finnish nature and the subtle charm of its cityscapes.
